  • During summer nasya should be done in evening.

How to do Nasya karma

Pre-procedure:

  • Before the Nasya treatment, it is essential to prepare the body and mind for the procedure.
  •  Give gentle massages, steam therapy over the head face and neck should be done 

Main procedure:

  • The main procedure includes:
  • Patient shoul lie in a supine position with their head
  • Tilting the head back slightly not to flexed or extended 
  • Administering the medicated substance drop by drop into each nostril.
  • Gentle massage around the nose and face to help distribute the medicine.
  • Taking slow, deep breaths to allow the medication to reach deeper into the nasal, hand and feet massage is given.
  • Spit out if medicine comes to mouth in to spiting cup
  • Avoid swallowing the medicine

  Post-procedure:

  • After the procedure, it is important to rest and avoid exposure to cold drafts or extreme temperatures to maximize the benefits of Nasya.
  • Give smoke inhalation (doomapana)
  • Use salt water for gargling and rinsing mouth(kawalagraha)
